Krista Conlin is the matriarch of KC Projects PR and an accomplished public relations professional, and successful entrepreneur. In 2011, she founded KC Projects, quickly becoming highly recognized and respected as a top public relations firm that delivers positive editorial and branding results to her clients. A “Jill of all trades”, Krista and her team work with a variety of clients from large to small and regional to world-wide, building solid client relationships, creative campaigns, strategy development, and implementing targeted messaging while always keeping the company’s motto, ‘Telling Your Story & Moving You Forward’, as a priority.

Krista is the recipient of many awards for her public relations, marketing, and entrepreneurial efforts, including the International Stevie Awards for Women in Business in which she was a finalist for Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Public Relations Campaign of the Year,  and Pro Bono Campaign of the Year. In addition, she has been honored by PR News Platinum PR Awards, Birmingham’s Business Excellence Award, Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2013, and named the Rising Star CEO for Birmingham in 2013.

Her strength in cultivating and maintaining close media relationships has enabled her to secure a stockpile of press in top tier outlets including Atlanta Journal Constitution, Wall Street Journal, Better Homes & Garden, Times Piscayne, American Banker, The Tennessean, Nashville Business Journal, Mobile Press Register, AL.com, and Birmingham Business Journal, as well as segments on the Today Show.

Krista, an M.B.A. graduate of University of Miami with a Finance degree from the University of Alabama, is as passionate about public service as she is about public relations. She is an avid and passionate world traveler who seeks adventure to broaden horizons, provide learning, expand awareness, and stoke curiosity.

As PR + Digital Brand Manager for KC Projects, Brailyn Hardy plays an integral role in developing and maintaining strategic communication for public relations and digital initiatives/programs for KC Projects’ clients.

Brailyn specializes in building client relationships, executing media relations campaigns and being well-versed in the intricacies of social media. She also oversees social media campaigns which include, but are not limited to: research and campaign development, content creation, execution, monitoring and reporting, managing, and motivating a team dedicated to social marketing.

Brailyn works with brands to determine where, when, and how their strategic public relations and social media campaigns should be executed. She has successfully secured media placements for KC Projects clients in top-tier media publications such as FoodNetwork.com, The Daily Meal, Men's Journal, BuzzFeed, and Thrillist. Her deep understanding on what it takes to raise awareness in the online world through social media has also led several digital campaigns from the agency to be recognized by PR News’ Digital PR Awards and was named a PR News Rising PR Stars under 30 for 2017. 

A Birmingham native, Brailyn joined the KC Projects team in 2013 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences in Public Relations from the University of Alabama. Brailyn serves on the Board of Directors for the Young Professionals of Birmingham, Junior Board for Glenwood Inc., Junior Board for Magic Moments, KultureCity Leadership Council, and Vulcan Park and Museum Junior Leadership Board. Brailyn is also a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church. 

While Brailyn’s clever catch-phrases and outstanding one-liners always keep people on their toes, it is the combination of her passion for her craft, loyal spirit, and dedicated work ethic that drive her success.




Samantha Jarman serves as Public Relations Executive for KC Projects. Samantha’s media relations expertise and exemplary interpersonal communication skills are the driving forces to growing clients’ brands to their highest potential.

Samantha is originally from Louisiana, but has spent time in Washington D.C. and Atlanta before deciding Birmingham is the place for her to call home. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science from the University of Alabama, all while making friendships and business contacts to last a lifetime.

With experience in everything from politics to advertising, Samantha joined the KC Projects team in 2015 to further grow as a public relations professional and take on a new learning experience. When not PRing, Samantha can be found eating spicy food, spending time with family, traveling or with her dog Carl. 

Samantha’s yearning for learning and her uncanny knack for building strong relationships are killer additions to an already dynamite KC Projects team. 


As Social Media Manager at KC Projects, Lindsey Mays expertly crafts unique content and social strategies to support client concepts, spark engagement and boost performance.  With over five years of experience, Lindsey is well-versed in the nuances of social media. She also has ample expertise in research, social engagement, social listening, contesting, campaign production, content creation and management optimizing the results and reach for clients. 

Lindsey is a Magic City native who graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she studied Communication Management. She received both her Bachelors of Arts in 2013 and Masters of Arts in 2017 from UAB. (Go Blazers!) Prior to joining the KC Projects team, Lindsey specialized in Social Media management at Southern Social.

In her ‘me time’, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her husband Jacob, watching the latest shows on Netflix and running. Described by some as a “crazy dog lady’ (and proud to wear that badge), Lindsey can often be found voluntering at the local humane society, updating her pup's Instagram page or just hanging out with her three fur babies, Sophie, Roc, and Boots!

Kassidy Abernathy is the PR Assistant at KC Projects. Her duties include, but are certainly not limited to, strategically moving projects and campaigns from concept ideation to successful completion. In her role, she supports executives and managers across digital and traditional PR realms.

Kassidy’s knack for finding and sharing a great story stem from her background as a journalist. She has researched, written, and edited features and hard-hitting news stories for publications like Dateline Alabama and The Tuscaloosa News.

Born and raised in a small town just outside of Birmingham, Kassidy earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Alabama. Prior to joining KC Projects, Kassidy worked in advertising. She mixes her knowledge of earned and paid media to create holistic plans to help clients reach their public relations, branding and overall strategic goals.

When she isn’t PRing,, Kassidy loves to camp at the beach and dig into a good book.
